Actor. Clarance Holt, born in London, first acted there in 1843. After several years as actor-manager in Norwich, he was invited to Australia by George Coppin, and arrived in Melbourne in 1854. He acted in Tasmania, Victoria, and Sydney. After a brief absence, he returned in 1858, and in 1862 was joint lessee of the Theatre Royal, Melbourne. After two years in New Zealand, he returned to England, where in 1878 he became joint lessee of the Duke's Theatre, Holborn. He died in London. Father of Bl...
